Postscript: In my original posting I said "Joe Rosenthal was a photographer." I checked, and Mr. Rosenthal, bless him, is very much alive... and still talking about the photograph that changed history. I delightedly changed it to "is"! I humbly offer apologies--and my blessing for him to live and be well 120 years!
