Still Learning from David Ogilvy

I cut my advertising eye teeth on Confessions of an Advertising Man. I was never quite the same after reading that book! I still fight graphic designers who use reverse type, but I don't win as often ;)

I just came across this video clip of elder statesman David Ogilvy pitching an account. Powerful stuff. Especially the humility in admitting his error of decades before: He turned down an account because he never heard of the company. It was a new business machine company with a strange name: Xerox!
