Dear Patron of the Mail Order Arts

Before there was "Direct Marketing" there was Mail Order. I still tell people I got my start as a copywriter from being a mail order junkie.

Way back in 1981, a brilliant takeoff on mail order advertising appeared in the New Yorker: "Rolled in Rare Bohemian Onyx, Then Vulcanized by Hand" by Bruce McCall.

If you're an aficionado of mail order advertising and offbeat humor, you'll love it.

My favorite line:
"Here's an offer that's so limited, you can't have it!"
